Creating a Better Client Experience
Rusty Vernon, a Richmond Va. native, has been in the financial services business since 1984. In 1995, after 11 years as a financial sales representative, Rusty started Vernon Management Group, Inc. Rusty has been an investment advisor representative for Vernon Management Group, Inc. for the last 27 years.
One of the reasons he formed VMG was to create a better experience for the client. To achieve this he decided to start an investment advisor business and become a fee based advisor. For example, if a client is working with a fee based advisor, the client can feel comfortable knowing that the advice he or she is receiving is unbiased. It is unbiased because the advisor’s management fee is tied to the value of the clients account(s). In this situation if the client’s account(s) goes up in value the advisor’s fee revenue goes up and also if the client’s account(s) goes down in value the advisor’s fee revenue goes down as well. This way the client and the advisor have the same goal, which is to grow and protect the client’s account(s) balance.
Rusty lives in the west end of Richmond, Va. He and his wife Kate have 5 children. In his free time he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
